We are pleased to announce the immediate release of a new version of the ByteBlower Server.

  • ByteBlower server daemon:
    • General
      • Improved latency measurements
      • Time-tags on both the 1x00 and 2100 series use the same format.
      • Fixed TCP bug during destruction/cleanup.
    • ByteBlower 1x00 specific:
      • Fixed hang during heavy load.
    • ByteBlower 2100 specific:
      • Compensate internal latency during latency measurements.
  • ByteBlower server environment:
    • An update could fail to start telling an other update was still in progress.
  • Date and time settings are stored during shut-down of the server.
  • ByteBlower server system:
    • ByteBlower 2100 specific
      • Updated BIOS to 3.0
      • Updated IPMI firmware to 3.20

Combining latency measurements and automatic checksumming on Layer4 doesn't work on the ByteBlower 2100. The reason for this is that the adapter first calculates the Layer4 checksum, and then adds a timestamp to have the highest accuracy. This invalidates the checksum.

Two possible solutions are:

  • use a fixed UDP checksum of 0 ( IPv4 only )
  • append the checksum after the UDP payload.

The ByteBlower Server update is available through the Server Automatic Update system.
