ByteBlower 2.11 released
Posted by Wouter Debie on 17 December 2019 10:44 AM

Signal quality, modulation rate or just as simple as which device you were using, are important parameters of each Wireless test. From version 2.11.0  the Wireless Endpoint reports these new values

  • RSSI, signal quality.
  • SSID, network name.
  • BSSID, base station identifier.
  • Channel id, both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz.
  • Maximum transmit rate of the interface.

These values can be logged during a test run or polled while the device is registered at the MeetingPoint.

As you might expect already, not all Operating Systems are equally open in sharing this information. Still we’ve tried to make it userfriendly. Interested what values are available for your devices? Look here.

Those working with the ByteBlower API can begin immediately after updating the Wireless Endpoint and MeetingPoint. This example serves as a starter. You can find more examples in the same github repository

If you want to ready more about the changes is 2.11, read the changelog of the ByteBlower server or Wireless Endpoint
