Changing the password

Introduction

ByteBlower systems are shipped with the following default username/password. You can use this password to remotely log into the system over SSH.

Username	root
Password	excentis

Follow these steps to change the password.

Login to the system

Connect to the server using either a keyboard/screen or by using ssh.

Change the password using passwd

Use the passwd command to change your password.

NOTE: There is no way to recover the password once it is lost. In case of loss, the system needs to be re-installed (contact support in this case)

Use the configurator

Continue after the welcome screen.

Go to System configuration:

Change root password:

Provide a new password:

And repeat this once again:

Go back and exit.
